Seabed Separation Expands Access to Subsea Water Polishing Technologies

Seabed Separation has worked closely with two companies that work on the task to develop and qualify an equipment for subsea water polishing.

NANO Flotation Technology

The fare east located oil company, Petronas (Malaysia), is in the process of finalize the qualification of a technology known as: NANO flotation. This technology might be adapted to the DPS technology and serve as a second stage water polishing unit secure clean water to be discharged.

Compact Flotation Unit (CFU) Technology

Through the cooperation agreement with Aker Solutions, now part of the OneSubsea group, Seabed Separation has access to the subsea qualified CFU technology (CFU = Compact Flotation Unit). This CFU technology can serve as the second stage water polishing securing water quality for subfloor discharge.

Meeting an Industry Need

It has for many years been a request from the oil industry to come up with a solution that opens for removal of the water from the well stream as early as possible, close to subsea template, and discharge the water locally. If not subsea discharge the system can safeguard the water quality prior to produced water reinjection for pressure maintenance or storage.
